Uniting the Power of Songs Through Story and Community
In 2025, Common Events became an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, formalizing its commitment to bringing people together through the power of song. Through meaningful events and shared experiences, Common Events creates spaces where stories are heard, connections are formed, and lives are impacted.
Founded by Rebecca Jones, a music industry veteran with a passion for storytelling, Common Events was born from a desire to authentically celebrate the artistry and craft of Christian songwriters. Through its events, the organization amplifies the voices of artists, fosters community, and creates opportunities for deeper connection through music.
In 2017, Rebecca launched Redbird Common, the organization's flagship event inspired by her love of stories and the people behind them. What began as an intimate gathering in a local café has grown into a respected songwriters' round hosted in a theater setting in Franklin, Tennessee, featuring both GRAMMY-winning artists and emerging talent. Centered on the stories behind the songs, Redbird Common offers audiences a rare opportunity to experience music in its most personal form. Artists such as Amy Grant, David Leonard, and Cody Carnes, alongside acclaimed songwriters including Ethan Hulse, AJ Pruis, and Jeff Pardo, share the inspiration, faith, and life experiences that shaped the songs audiences know and love.
As the organization has grown, so has its impact. Common Worship, launched in 2022, creates intentional spaces for worship and prayer led by respected voices within the Church, inviting attendees into meaningful encounters with God through music. In 2023, Common Events expanded further with the launch of In Common, a recurring songwriters' round dedicated to showcasing unsigned artists and providing a platform for emerging voices to be heard.
Through every event, Common Events remains committed to uniting the power of songs through story and community—creating spaces where artists are celebrated, audiences are inspired, and meaningful connections are formed.

Common Events is dedicated to uniting and elevating songwriters, whether emerging or established, by celebrating the unique stories behind their songs, fostering a sense of community and cultivating faith through our events.
VISION STATEMENT
To be a leading Christian music organization that promotes discipleship, fellowship, worship, ministry, and evangelism through storytelling and song. We aim to create spaces where faith deepens, community connects, and lives are transformed by the gospel.
In 2015, Rebecca founded Redbird Artists Agency, managing a roster of songwriters, worship leaders, and touring artists. Two years later, she launched Redbird Common, the Nashville area's first Christian contemporary music songwriters' round dedicated exclusively to showcasing the stories behind the songs. Building on that vision, she later founded Common Worship and In Common, an independent Christian music songwriters' round created to spotlight emerging artists and songwriters.
With more than two decades of experience in the Christian music industry, Rebecca brings a deep understanding of artist development, live events, and community building. Above all, she considers it a privilege to create opportunities that amplify the voices of artists and help expand the impact of the messages they share through music.

About Our Founder
Rebecca Jones's love for music began at a young age while serving behind the scenes in the events department at her church in Nashville, Tennessee. That passion led her to Middle Tennessee State University, where she earned a degree in Music Business.
Rebecca began her career in the music industry in 2004 at the Gospel Music Association before joining an artist management team that worked directly with Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, and bestselling author Frank Peretti. She later joined Elite Talent Agency, where she booked artists including Switchfoot, Lincoln Brewster, and Gungor, and played a role in the early development of hip-hop artist NF.
